I’m gonna butcher what @superamiuniverse spent like 2 hours trying to explain to me and simplify it.
Light is all about reflections, so if you want something to look super shiny, you have to think of a mirror.
Shiny hotspots would be that reflective surface capturing a light, or the sun, something super bright like that, and the absence of light would be the silhouette of whatever’s being reflected.
So, you have to make up a room in your head for it to reflect, and keep that consistent, an easy one is an outside environment with buildings, with the sun in the sky, silhouette of a person optional.
Keep the form in mind as well, don’t make it super reflective in the shadow, etc.
